Manchester United will be hoping to end their losing streak to an end as they prepare to host Newcastle at the Old Trafford. The Red Devils failed to score in the defeat in the Boxing day  against Wolves marking a third defeat in a row in eight days.

United will head to this match ranked at position 14 with 22 points just 23 points behind the League leaders Liverpool after 18 matches played so far. A three match lose means the Red Devils are out of Carabao Cap as they will be ranked at the bottom of the premier table. 

Newcastle enter into this encounter ranked 7 in the league table with 29 points just 16 points behind Liverpool after matchday 18. 

The Red Devils come into this match with several key players in their squad. Their Captain Bruno Bruno Fernandes is suspended with a red card he received against Wolves during the boxing day fixture while Manuel Ugarte will also not feature after he received his fifth yellow card. On the injury list Luke Shaw is expected to miss this match alongside Victor Lindelof with injuries. 

On the other hand Howe’s squad will be without six players sidelined with injuries. Nick Pope,  Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are both sidelined with injuries.
