Mikel has been handed a new injury worry alongside the tense wait of Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Martin Ordegaard for the upcoming match against Liverpool. Club captain Martin Odegaard also missed the clash on the south coast as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, with a return in mid-November the expected outcome. The Norway international has been able to offer an update on the work he is doing while absent, with hope that his return can arrive soon.

Riccardo Calafiori

Injury: Knee

Arteta has been handed another fitness concern, with Riccardo Calafiori taken off in the second half against Shakhtar because of an injury problem. The Italian was replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly after he fell awkwardly on his knee. Calafiori was forced off with an injury during the Champions League clash at home to Shakhtar Donetsk after slipping in a challenge.

Bukayo Saka

Injury: Hamstring.

Saka suffered a Hamstring injury during  England’s defeat to Greece in the International break. There was hope he could feature against Bournemouth one week later, but Mikel Arteta made the decision to leave him out of the squad. Despite Arteta saying that he would be participating,  Saka was not available for Monday’s training session.

Martin Odegaard

Injury: Ankle.

Odegaard suffered an ankle injury during the Nations League match against Austria in September. He has missed the last five weeks and was ruled out of the Bournemouth clash, with Arteta revealing the next few days will be crucial in his recovery. Odegaard says he feels better and better everyday but since it’s an ankle injury there are ups and downs as well.
