Jurgen Klopp has shared his thoughts on the futures of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts are set to expire this summer.

Speaking to SSN reporter Vinny O’Connor, Klopp expressed hope that all three players will stay at Liverpool but admitted he hasn’t been told anything yet.
“I’m really happy they’re doing well,” Klopp said. “I stay in touch with Arne Slot and some of the players. Sometimes I think, ‘Maybe I should still be there,’ because they’re playing such great football—maybe the most balanced team in the world right now.”

On the trio’s futures, Klopp added, “I hope they all extend their contracts. Virgil might want to stay for five more years, even into his 40s! Mo? We couldn’t afford his wages. And Trent? He still needs to improve his defending, really.”
Klopp joked about being glad he’s not the one answering these tough questions anymore. Reflecting on Alexander-Arnold’s recent form, he said, “Yes, he wasn’t great against Man United, but if you only highlight his good games and ignore the bad ones, life would be much easier.”
