Fabio Carvalho, who joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 for a £5 million fee, made a significant impact during his loan spell at Hull City in the second half of last season, netting nine goals in 20 Championship appearances. Prior to that, Carvalho had a brief stint at RB Leipzig earlier in the campaign. His impressive performances at Hull caught the attention of clubs like Southampton and Leicester, who were keen on securing his services this summer. Fulham stands to benefit from a 20% sell-on clause included in Carvalho’s transfer to Brentford, which will be activated based on any profit Liverpool makes from the move.
Carvalho initially rose to prominence at Fulham, where he was regarded as one of the club’s brightest young talents. During their promotion campaign, he scored 12 goals in 44 appearances, primarily in the Championship. At Liverpool, Carvalho has featured 21 times and found the back of the net on three occasions. His recent form at Hull has shown that he remains a promising talent on the rise.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, a 25-year-old midfielder with a £51 million release clause.
Zubimendi, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United and long-time admirers Arsenal, played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 final victory over England, replacing Rodri at halftime in the 2-1 win. Zubimendi has been with Sociedad since 2011 and was instrumental in their sixth-place finish last season, contributing four goals in 31 appearances.
