Arsenal defender William Saliba is in a race to recover in time for the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday, February 2.
The Gunners are struggling with injuries, as key players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus are sidelined for extended periods. Saliba’s absence adds to their woes, with manager Mikel Arteta expressing concern about the squad’s depth.

Saliba picked up an injury during Arsenal’s midweek win over Tottenham and missed their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. The club is still waiting for test results to assess the severity of the issue. Arteta admitted he’s “very worried” given the limited options available on the bench.
Reports from French outlet L’Equipe suggest that Saliba has avoided a serious injury but will likely be out for two weeks. This would see him miss the upcoming league game against Wolves and two Champions League matches against Dinamo Zagreb and Girona.
The French center-back is now aiming to return in time for Arsenal’s crucial match against Manchester City. If he misses that, he is expected to be fit for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle United on February 5.
