Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta plans to use the international break to help Raheem Sterling get ready to play for the team. Sterling recently joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea after being left out of Chelsea’s squad by their new manager.
Sterling, who previously worked with Arteta at Manchester City and scored 10 goals for Chelsea last season, hasn’t played since pre-season. After a tough 1-1 draw with Brighton, Arsenal has two weeks to prepare for their match against Tottenham on September 15.
When asked if Sterling might play in the derby, Arteta said they need to assess Sterling’s condition and what he’s been doing lately. They’ll work quickly to get him familiar with Arsenal’s style and into the team.
