The Premier League center-back market is quite active, with Bayer Leverkusen playing a central role. Leverkusen needs to sell one of their defenders—Edmond Tapsoba, Jonathan Tah, or Odilon Kossounou—to make room for the potential signing of Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool.

Kossounou has been offered to several Premier League clubs, including Wolves and Leicester. However, Wolves are currently in negotiations with Burnley for Dara O’Shea, and Leicester is more focused on improving their attacking options. Meanwhile, Ipswich is also interested in O’Shea, and both they and Wolves have Sheffield United’s Anel Ahmedhodzic on their radar. Brentford, on the other hand, has agreed to a £25 million deal with Liverpool for Van den Berg and is waiting for the player’s decision.

The question now is how long clubs can wait for Leverkusen to offload one of their center-backs, as the transfer window closes in less than nine days. Kossounou’s valuation is reportedly high, and while Newcastle has shown interest in Tapsoba, they are also pursuing Marc Guehi, so it is uncertain if their interest will progress. Tah was previously a target for Bayern Munich, but they have since moved on to other players.
